LivingSoiLL at Enoforum Spain 2026: Bringing Soil Health Science to the Heart of the Viticulture Sector

Enoforum 2026 brought together more than 700 wine industry professionals in Zaragoza on 20–21 May, and LivingSoiLL was proud to be part of it.

Now in its fifth Spanish edition, Enoforum has firmly established itself as one of Europe’s leading technical and scientific forums for viticulture and oenology. This year’s congress brought together over 70 speakers, more than 20 keynote presentations, and scientific contributions from five countries – making it an ideal stage for showcasing cutting-edge research with real-world impact.

LivingSoiLL in the ‘Healthy Soils for Perennial Crops’ Session

LivingSoiLL featured in the newly established viticulture room, one of the standout additions of this year’s edition, which dedicated specific attention to pressing challenges in vineyard management, including soil health, water stress, and climate adaptation strategies.

Within the thematic session Healthy Soils for Perennial Crops, our project Coordinator Cristina Carlos (UTAD) presented the LivingSoiLL approach to tackling soil degradation in permanent crop systems. Her talk introduced the Living Labs framework at the core of our project: participatory spaces where farmers, researchers, advisors and other stakeholders co-create and field-test practical solutions for improving soil health across diverse agroecological contexts.

The presentation highlighted how LivingSoiLL is generating transferable knowledge by embedding scientific rigour within real farming environments – moving beyond the research station and into the vineyard.

Enoforum sits at the intersection of science and industry, translating research advances into actionable solutions for wineries and vineyards, making it a strategically important venue for LivingSoiLL. With 45 exhibiting companies, seven R&D projects on show, and a strong institutional network, the event draws exactly the kind of audience our project needs to reach: practitioners who can adopt and scale the soil health practices we are developing.
