LivingSoiLL Featured in the Mission Soil Podcast: Exploring Living Labs for Healthier Soils
LivingSoiLL was featured in the third episode of the Mission Soil Podcast, a series dedicated to showcasing innovative projects that are shaping the future of soil health across Europe. The episode, titled “Living Labs: Co-Creating Solutions for Healthier Soils,” invites listeners to explore how Living Labs serve as real-world testing grounds where local communities, researchers, and land managers collaborate to design and implement sustainable soil management solutions.
Hosted by Dominic Smith, the episode brings together representatives from three pioneering Mission Soil projects: Erik Sindhöj from iCOSHELLs (Innovative Co-Creation Soil Health Living Labs), Sonia Pietosi from LILAS4SOILS (Fostering Carbon Farming Practices through Living Labs in the Mediterranean and Southern EU for the Healthy Future of European Soils), and Cristina Carlos from LivingSoiLL (Healthy Soil to Permanent Crops Living Labs).
“At LivingSoiLL, we bring together farmers from the wine, olive, chestnut, hazelnut, and apple sectors because of their significant economic and social impact across Europe,” said Cristina Carlos, LivingSoiLL Coordinator. “In this project, farmers are truly key actors — they collaborate with scientists across five Living Labs to test and implement innovative soil management practices that enhance soil health.”
The episode also explored the ambitions, progress, and tangible impacts of each project, offering an inspiring overview of how Mission Soil initiatives are connecting science and practice to regenerate Europe’s soils.
