LivingSoiLL at EUROSOIL 2025 in Seville, Spain

Earlier this month, the LivingSoiLL marked its presence at EUROSOIL 2025, held in Seville, Spain, from 8 to 12 September 2025. The event provided a valuable platform for partners to share insights, showcase Living Lab activities, and engage with the broader European soil science community on advancing soil health and sustainable land management.

Highlights from the LivingSoiLL contributions included:

  • University of PortoRuth Pereira presented “Challenges of Soil Monitoring at the LIVING LABS on Permanent Crops,” addressing practical and methodological issues in long-term soil monitoring.
  • University of JaénAntonio Manzaneda shared insights from the Andalusian Living Lab in his talk “Transition Towards Healthy Soils in More Resilient and Productive Olive Groves in Andalusia.”
  • Warsaw University of Life Sciences Jerzy Jonczak, Józef Chojnicki, and Sebastian Przybylko presented “Grójec Living Lab: Co-Creation For Sustainable Soil Management in Practice,” highlighting collaborative approaches for soil stewardship.
  • UNITO – Università degli Studi di TorinoSara Negri, Silvia Stanchi, and Eleonora Bonifacio showcased a poster on “Linking Soil Properties With Vine Resistance to the 2022 Drought in the Hills of Langhe and Monferrato, Italy,” illustrating the impact of soil characteristics on crop resilience.

Throughout the conference, LivingSoiLL partners actively engaged in discussions, exchanged knowledge, and explored collaborative opportunities with peers from across Europe. The event reinforced the project’s commitment to soil health and sustainability and offered a unique chance to strengthen ties between the Living Labs and the wider soil science community.
