LivingSoiLL Launches Facilitators Training Webinar Series — Now Available on YouTube
As part of its commitment to building capacity and fostering effective co-creation within Living Labs, LivingSoiLL launched its Facilitators Training Webinar Series in May 2025. The four online sessions brought together experts, practitioners, and facilitators to explore the principles, methods, and tools that underpin successful co-creation processes. All sessions are now publicly available on LivingSoiLL’s YouTube channel.
The first webinar, held on May 14, introduced participants to key strategies for effective facilitation, focusing on the Co-Creation Journey. The session explored the principles of co-creation, stakeholder roles, and methods for defining shared objectives. Participants learned how to build collaborative frameworks, align actions with the Living Lab Roadmap, and apply capacity-building strategies. The discussion concluded with practical insights on monitoring, feedback mechanisms, and tools for leading co-creation activities.
The second webinar focused on the Role of Facilitators in Co-Creation and Living Labs. Participants examined the facilitator’s multifaceted role as orchestrator, connector, and moderator of co-creation dynamics. The session explored the facilitator’s involvement in real-world experimentation, stakeholder engagement, and governance structures.
Jonathan Minchin from Fundação Casa de Mateus enriched the session by sharing his hands-on experiences, lessons learned, and valuable facilitation tips. The discussion also addressed common challenges and offered practical strategies for overcoming them.
In the third webinar, held on May 26, the LivingSoiLL team delved into co-creation methods for designing and implementing sustainable solutions. Topics included criteria for method selection, design thinking, and techniques for supporting various stages of the co-creation process.
Guest speakers António Graça (SOGRAPE) and Jonathan Minchin shared real-world examples and practical advice, highlighting how co-creation approaches can lead to impactful, long-lasting outcomes.
The fourth and final session, on May 28, explored Accountability and Learning Assessment in Co-Creation. Lívia Madureira (UTAD) presented an assessment framework and key indicators for evaluating the effectiveness of co-creation in living labs.
She was followed by Jonathan Minchin and António Graça, who offered concise, experience-based reflections on accountability and learning. The session concluded with a dynamic Q&A, encouraging participants to share feedback and suggestions that will inform future LivingSoiLL facilitation activities.
The Facilitators Training Webinar Series marks an important step in LivingSoiLL’s mission to strengthen collaboration, knowledge exchange, and co-creation capacity across its community.
